Here at element, we love discovering unique, quirky and characterful accommodation options for your winners. A new firm favourite at element HQ, this little treasure on The Thames could provide the perfect setting for your next prize or incentive!

Moored on top of the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, “A Room for London,” is the result of a design competition run by two inspired clients — Living Architecture and Artangel— to offer a unique, one-bedroom accommodation with some of the best views in London, and a program of live performances and events.

Selected from over 500 entries, the winning design is the creation of David Kohn Architects and the artist Fiona Banner. The team drew inspiration from Joseph Conrad’s book Heart of Darkness, creating a vessel which comes complete with enough features and extras to rival the most luxurious of conventional hotel rooms. The bedroom has panoramic views across central London and the ground floor is completed by a spacious en suite bathroom that spans the entire width of the boat. Accessed by a ladder, the upper level comes complete with a small library and outdoor viewing platform.

Booking for stays from the beginning of July to December 2012 opens on Thursday 19th January!
